About the Role
The Production Line Tech is a key operator within Historic Images’ high-volume digitization workflow. This role is responsible for executing standardized processes that move historic photographs efficiently through staging, prepping, machine scanning, digital processing, and fulfillment.
Core Responsibilities
Production Execution
- Stage, Prep and Batch historic photographs for high-volume scanning
- Operate and monitor automated scanning machines to ensure continuous workflow
- Troubleshoot minor workflow interruptions and escalate issues when needed
- Conduct quality control checks on digital output for accuracy and clarity
- Process large batches of images through company software systems
- Box and Palletize boxes of physical material
Workflow & Output
- Maintain steady pace aligned with daily production targets
- Track and support team throughput goals
- Follow standardized operating procedures without deviation
- Support cross-training to strengthen operational redundancy
Material Stewardship
- Handle archival materials with care, consistency and consideration
- Prepare completed scans for packaging and shipment
- Contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere by helping with general office upkeep and ensuring shared spaces are well-maintained.
Requirements
- No prior experience required — full operational training provided
- Comfortable performing repetitive, process-driven work for extended periods
- Ability to maintain pace and accuracy in a metrics-based environment
- Able to lift boxes up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work with loud machinery
- Comfortable operating production equipment and learning machine systems
- Willingness to occasionally handle sensitive or graphic historical images
- Basic computer proficiency preferred
- Contribution to workspace chores and maintaining a comfortable working environment
- Work in partnership with colleagues to troubleshoot challenges and share best practices
Work Environment
- Weekday shifts: Morning 6am - 3pm, Evening 9am - 6pm
