We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Caretaker to provide exceptional support and care for individuals in need of assistance within their homes or community settings. Duties
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe their overall health status regularly
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Operate medical equipment including Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices safely and effectively
- Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior, especially for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or developmental disabilities
- Support residents with memory care needs through engaging activities and personalized routines
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the home or community setting through regular cleaning tasks
- Document care activities meticulously, including vital signs, medication administration, and any incidents or observations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as nurses, social workers, and therapists to develop and follow comprehensive care plans
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment for residents or clients
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including CPR and first aid procedures, especially during emergencies or health crises
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community activities as needed
Experience
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in home health care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or hospice settings. Experience working with individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder—and familiarity with memory care is highly valued. Candidates should possess knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, medication administration protocols, and safety procedures such as heavy lifting and the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts. Certification in CPR and first aid is required. Experience managing care plans and working within HIPAA regulations is essential. A background in social work or long-term care will be considered advantageous.
