Who We Are
Kando Construction Services is a multifamily and commercial construction company built on systems, accountability, and doing the work right — every unit, every time. We do not believe in ambiguity. Our Superintendents know exactly what their role is, what authority they carry on site, and where the handoffs live. If you have ever worked somewhere where everybody was in charge and nobody was accountable, this is the opposite of that.
The Role
We are hiring a Superintendent to serve as Kando’s on-the-ground field authority for multifamily renovation and capital improvement projects in the Peoria, IL area. This is a dedicated, boots-on-site role — you will be present on the jobsite daily, managing production, quality, safety, and subcontractor performance in real time. You are the PM’s partner in the field. You coordinate daily with your PM on priorities, hold full authority on site — quality, safety, crew direction, subcontractor management — and keep the PM informed with structured updates so nothing falls through the cracks. You are also the point person for receiving material deliveries, verifying orders, and keeping the site running smoothly from a logistics standpoint. This model works because of discipline, communication, and mutual respect between PM and Super. If that sounds like how you already operate, keep reading.
What You Will Own
- Daily on-site presence: you are the constant on the jobsite, managing production flow, crew performance, and project quality in real time
- On-site kickoffs at new projects: establishing quality standards, unit sequencing, crew expectations, and site rules before production begins
- Full field authority on site: inspecting completed work against scope checklists, directing corrections, managing crew conduct, and enforcing safety standards
- Receiving and verifying material deliveries — confirming orders match purchase orders, inspecting for damage or shortages, coordinating storage and staging on site
- Managing on-site logistics: material staging, equipment coordination, and ensuring the site is organized and ready for each day’s production
- Daily communication with the PM: structured updates on progress, issues, and open items so the PM can drive resolution from the office side
- Same-day field documentation — photos in CompanyCam and written findings in ClickUp, every day, no exceptions
- Subcontractor scheduling coordination with the PM from the field
- Professional communication with property managers and on-site client contacts
- Escalating only when scope, budget, or safety decisions exceed field-level authority
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years in a field supervision role in residential renovation or multifamily construction
- Strong quality control instincts across interior renovation scopes: painting, flooring, kitchens, baths, fixtures, appliances
- Comfortable operating within a structured PM/Super model — you take direction on priorities, you report back clearly, and you do not freelance
- Hands-on experience managing material deliveries, verifying orders, and coordinating on-site logistics
- Disciplined documentation habits — if it was not documented, it did not happen
- Strong written and verbal communication — the PM depends on your daily updates to keep the project moving
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
Nice to Have
- Experience with multifamily unit turn programs or large-scale renovation at volume
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Familiarity with ClickUp and CompanyCam for structured field reporting
- Experience working in a defined PM/Super operating model with clear handoffs
What We Offer
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- A clearly defined role with real field authority — no guessing where your lane is
- A PM partner who communicates daily and follows through on every open item from the office side
- A growing company investing in the right systems, not just adding headcount and hoping for the best
- Leadership that respects the field and treats Supers as partners, not order-takers
