Job Overview
The Financial Analyst is a key part of the Finance Organization. Contributes to all areas of finance/accounting and provides strong financial support. Responsible for supporting the month end close process, distributing various month end reports, including finalizing and distributing the financial statements. The incumbent will provide financial direction and provide recommendations to improve site performance.
Responsibilities
- Preparing various reports for leadership and stakeholders regarding sales, cost, profitability.
- Assist in cost allocation methodologies and ensure accurate assignment of expenses across departments
- Support the month end close process by running various SAP reports, making journal entries, and leading various SAP processes
- Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align financial goals and strategies
- Assisting with scenario planning and risk analysis
- Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management
- Utilize SAP (FI/CO, CO-PA, or S/4HANA) to extract and validate financial data for reporting and analysis
- Improve and streamline SAP reporting processes, including automation and standardization of reports
- Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve corporate objectives
- Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements
- Responsible for weekly reporting of sales by product line
- Assist with updating annual cost standards
- Responsible for updating special pricing scenarios in SAP
Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Cost accounting experience
- Demonstrated expertise in MS Office and SAP
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP financial modules (FI/CO required; CO strongly preferred)
- Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries from the business.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, public groups, peers and staff
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with colleagues, clients and staff in charge
