The Dog Bather
Job Description
Each day a Dog Bather/Canine Care Specialist will be assigned. They are expected to act part of the team as well as complete their daily bathing checklist. This position oversees the quality control of all grooming services.
The Dog Bather/Canine Care Specialist is a multi-area position, alternating according to daily schedules. This position is an integral part of the team concept cooperating with the other departments to provide quality pet service.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Dog Bather/Canine Care Specialist is responsible for making sure all baths are scheduled with the correct pick-up time for each day. If any pick-up times are not specified it is their responsibility to notify the front desk to get in touch with the owner to receive a pick-up time.
The Dog Bather/ Canine Care Specialist is responsible to bathe and dry dogs according to bathing checklist standards.
The Dog Bather/ Canine Care Specialist inspects skin and coat condition for each dog and reports any suspect health conditions or behavior problems to their Lead and/or Management.
The Dog Bather/ Canine Care Specialist is responsible for the proper use and maintenance of equipment and tools, the cleanliness of the bathing department, along with the washing and drying of used towels.
The Dog Bather/ Canine Care Specialist is responsible to keep rooms cleaned and sanitized between the use of each pet, along with the cleaning and sanitation of tubs, countertops, and grooming table.
The Dog Bather/ Canine Care Specialist is responsible to assist in any cleaning and sanitizing inside and outside areas of the entire facility during their downtime.
The Dog Bather/Canine Care Specialist is responsible for looking over all lodgers and lodger’s belonging to see if they are soiled. It is their responsibility to launder such items and return them to the appropriate guest. It also their responsibility to make sure every guest goes home smelling fresh regardless of the grooming instructions.
The Dog Bather/Canine Care Specialist is responsible for maintaining and keeping up with all laundry for the whole facility. Laundry is to be constantly circulated to ensure all items are clean and available throughout the shift.
Additional duties will be assigned as needed.

Patience: Dog bathers should be patient with their canine clients. Dogs can be unpredictable and may not respond to commands or follow directions. It’s important for dog bathers to remain calm and continue to work with the animals to ensure they’re safe and comfortable.
