4. Operate personal computer and basic office equipment to maintain efficient
records and compile reports.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Organize theme-weeks designed to assist students with connecting college
and/or career aspirations with opportunities such as Application Week
(provide assistance with scholarship applications, FAFSA, job applications,
etc.), Military Careers Week, Get Set, Ready & Go! (one day fair providing
professional assistance with various facets of job applications, college
applications, professional and soft skill development, resume development,
interview skills, transition conferences for families, etc.), and Career
Spotlight Week, among others.
2. Collaborate with Principal, Counselors and Family Resource Youth Service
Center staff in planning parent, student and staff trainings that promote
Transition Readiness for all students.
3. Works with school-based stakeholders, business community and the
Chamber of Commerce to organize job shadowing experiences, co-op
experiences, field trips, and guest speakers to align these experiences with
student career interests.
4. Act as a consistent positive public relations agent regarding Transition
Readiness by attending workshops and events sponsored by the Chamber of
Commerce and local business and industry.
5. Work as the school’s ILP contact, or work with the school’s ILP contact to
facilitate student surveys to ascertain professional interests, student needs,
to better align the Transition Readiness program to address student needs,
family barriers and student professional aspirations.
6. Conduct meetings with High School students to help determine their path
towards college and/or a job, upon graduation.
7. Conduct meetings with seniors to help determine a path towards either
college and/or a job, upon graduation.
8. Meet with 8th grade students to expose them to career pathways and
administer personal interest inventories; share information with families to
facilitate adult/child decisions related to potential career paths.
9. Work collaboratively with Career and Technical Education personnel.
10. Hold a minimum of four (4) open labs per quarter where students sign up to
receive assistance with college and/or job related activities, included but not
limited to assistance with job applications, college applications, scholarship
applications, FAFSA materials, resumes, interview skills, etc. Depending on
the need expressed by the students, the CCRTC will bring in appropriate
professionals to help in certain areas.
11. In coordination with Guidance Counselors, guides students towards
appropriate assessments, depending on career aspirations, to include but not
limited to, KYOTE, CTE EOP, and WorkKeys.
12. Organize career / job fairs and college fairs.
13. Organize student field trip opportunities to visit technical schools, vocational
schools, colleges and universities, and industry sites.
