Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Landscape / Equipment Operator / CDL Driver for a year-round position with our team. The primary focus of this role is hands-on landscape work during the landscaping season and snow and ice management during the winter months.
Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, loaders, and other landscape and snow removal equipment is highly desired. Responsibilities may include landscape installation and labor, equipment operation, snow removal, loading and unloading materials and equipment, and assisting with material deliveries.
A CDL is not required, but is a strong plus for candidates with commercial driving experience who can assist with deliveries and transporting materials and equipment. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual with a versatile skill set who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a crew.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of hands-on landscape installation and maintenance tasks as part of a crew
- Safely operate equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, front-end loaders, and other landscape equipment
- Assist with snow and ice management during the winter season, including operating snow removal equipment
- Load, unload, and move landscape materials such as mulch, gravel, stone, soil, plants, and equipment
- For candidates with a CDL, safely operate Class A or B commercial vehicles for local deliveries and transportation of materials and equipment
- Conduct required pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections
- Assist with material handling, deliveries, yard work, and landscape projects as needed to keep daily operations and projects moving efficiently
- Work as a team and be willing to jump in wherever needed throughout our landscaping, material supply, and snow operations
- Represent McLennan Landscape professionally when working with customers, crew members, and the public
Requirements:
- Previous landscaping, construction, or similar outdoor work experience preferred
- Experience operating skid steers, loaders, mini-excavators, or similar equipment
- Ability and willingness to perform physical landscape labor in addition to equipment operation
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to perform snow and ice management work during the winter season
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to safely follow instructions and company procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- CDL Class A or B with commercial driving experience
- Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one, if applicable
- Experience delivering and handling landscape materials
- Experience operating snow removal equipment
- Mechanical aptitude or basic equipment maintenance knowledge
- Equipment operation or safety certifications are a plus
