Duties
- Design and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional development.
- Facilitate engaging lessons that incorporate Montessori methods, early intervention strategies, and classroom management techniques to support diverse learning styles.
- Manage daily classroom routines, including arrival and departure procedures, snack times, rest periods, and transitions to ensure a safe and organized environment.
- Use behavior management strategies to encourage positive interactions, resolve conflicts, and foster a respectful classroom community.
- Collaborate with families, special education professionals, and other staff to support individualized education plans (IEPs) and address each child's unique needs.
- Conduct assessments to monitor childhood development progress and prepare documentation for standardized testing or progress reports.
- Maintain a clean, safe classroom environment that adheres to child welfare standards and promotes active learning experiences.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
- Familiarity with special education practices and early intervention programs is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to implement teaching strategies such as Montessori methods or literacy education techniques.
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields is desirable; however, relevant coursework or training in childhood development is acceptable.
