The Hyatt Centric Key West Resort & Spa is looking for a dependable, flexible, and hardworking On-Call Steward/Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. Located in the heart of Old Town Key West, our resort is just steps from the vibrant energy of Duval Street and home to Four Flamingos, A Richard Blais Key West Kitchen and Blue Mojito Bar.
As an On-Call Steward/Cook, you'll provide essential support to our culinary team by assisting with both kitchen sanitation and basic food preparation. This versatile role helps ensure smooth kitchen operations by maintaining a clean, organized work environment while preparing menu items as needed to support service. Schedule availability will vary based on business needs, making this an ideal opportunity for someone seeking a flexible work schedule.
- Prepare menu items according to Hyatt and restaurant recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines.
- Assist with food preparation, stocking, and maintaining prep stations before, during, and after service.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen, Food & Beverage, and colleague dining areas.
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store all china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
- Keep dishwashing and kitchen work areas clean, sanitized, and organized throughout each shift.
- Support the culinary team by ensuring a steady supply of clean equipment during service.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and kitchen supplies using proper FIFO procedures.
- Perform deep cleaning projects and other Food & Beverage sanitation responsibilities as assigned.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Work collaboratively with culinary and restaurant teams to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
