Ferco Tech is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our growing aerospace manufacturing team.
We are looking for a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work and has a strong understanding of manual machining processes. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys challenging, one-of-a-kind work, problem-solving, and working with a variety of materials and components.

The successful candidate will have strong manual machining experience, the ability to work independently from blueprints and job routers, and a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Fabricate, modify, and repair parts, tooling, and machine components using knowledge of machining practices, mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and manufacturing procedures.
- Set up and operate manual horizontal lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
- Determine the appropriate sequence of operations required to complete machined products.
- Perform manual machining operations including turning, reaming, boring, facing, threading, and related processes.
- Build product acceptance tooling, fixtures, and gauges.
- Read and interpret blueprints, job routers, drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Determine appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining methods.
- Inspect completed work to verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Troubleshoot machining challenges and make appropriate adjustments to achieve required specifications.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and productivity expectations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures.
- Assist with training and knowledge-sharing with other team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous Manual Machinist experience required.
- Experience setting up and operating manual mills and lathes.
- Strong blueprint-reading and shop math skills.
- Ability to work accurately within required tolerances.
- Experience machining aerospace components and/or exotic materials preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn new processes and share knowledge with others.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, and kneel.
- Perform repetitive tasks associated with machining and manufacturing operations.
- Successfully complete required vision screenings.
- Work extended hours during peak workloads or special projects as needed.
Schedule
1st Shift:
Monday – Thursday
6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Overtime may be required based on business needs, including additional hours during the week and/or Fridays.
