Duties
- Act as the first point of contact for patients, greeting them warmly and guiding them through check-in procedures
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with health insurance inquiries to facilitate smooth billing processes and coordinate with billing company
- Assist patients in understanding their financial responsibility with copays, coinsurance, out-of-pocket and deductibles
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with health regulation policies and privacy standards
- Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of services
- Support medical staff with administrative tasks such as preparing charts, managing correspondence, and processing referrals
Skills
- Proven experience working in a medical or dental office environment with strong knowledge of health regulation policies
- Proficiency in Medical administrative support functions including appointment scheduling, billing, and insurance processing
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records efficiently and securely
- Solid understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret provider instructions and patient needs
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy office setting
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with patients, staff, and insurance companies
- Knowledge of health insurance policies and claims processes to assist patients accurately
