Position Overview
Regional One (R1) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team within the aviation leasing and asset management industry. This role offers direct involvement in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and the month-end close process, with exposure across multiple entities and functions.

Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Close

Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions

Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with supporting documentation
-
Support maintenance and structure of the chart of accounts (COA)
-
Prepare recurring entries such as bonus accruals, SG&A accruals, tax accruals, and amortization schedules
Financial Reporting & Analysis

Support preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages
-
Perform variance (flux) analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts
-
Assist with multi-entity trial balance consolidation
-
Analyze SG&A expenses and key financial trends
-
Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial dashboards and Excel-based reporting
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Expense Accounting

Oversee employee expense reporting through Concur, including audit, review, and approval
-
Partner with AP to ensure accurate coding, posting, and payment processing
-
Manage corporate credit card reconciliations and expense allocations
-
Support intercompany invoicing and AR “Due From” accounts

Record and reconcile expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and AP aging adjustments
Banking & Treasury Support

Perform monthly bank reconciliations (TD Bank, Wells Fargo)

Investigate and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies
-
Monitor daily cash activity (inflows/outflows) and ensure proper recording
-
Support internal cash management and treasury operations
Audit & Compliance
-
Prepare and provide audit support documentation (PBC requests) for external auditors (e.g., PwC)
-
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
-
Maintain accurate, well-documented accounting records for audit readiness
Specialized Accounting Areas

Perform intercompany accounting and reconciliations
-
Support consignment accounting, payable entries, and freight accruals
-
Assist with property and tangible tax accruals
-
Participate in process improvements and continuous enhancement of accounting procedures
Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience
-
2+ years of experience in Staff Accountant, General Ledger, or similar accounting roles
-
Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations required

Exposure to multi-entity environments or intercompany accounting preferred
Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)

Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)

Familiarity with expense management systems (Concur preferred)
