Position Overview
The order entry specialist will be responsible for entering in all incoming orders into a system. They will be responsible for accurately entering the information for each job into the system in a timely manner. A successful candidate will be detail oriented, with an ability to multitask. The ability to read and understand specifications related to metal finishing will be required after training is provided. This position is fast paced, a typing speed of at least 50 WPM is mandatory. This position works closely with the sales department, the shipping department, and the quality department. Must be a team player.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Entering in purchase orders from customers into a custom system in a timely manner accurately.

Reading and understanding the plating specifications that are called out on the purchase order.

Contacting customers with questions regarding their purchase orders via phone call or email.

Communicate with the production and sales teams on special jobs that come in.

Work with your team in order to ensure all of the orders get entered before the end of the business day.

Maintain email, including answering customers and saving purchase orders in the advanced PO file.

Maintain a clean desk space.

Answering incoming calls via a multiline phone system.

Review the orders that were entered to ensure accuracy.
Requirements & Skills:

50 WPM typing speed.

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Must be well organized.

Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.

Good understanding of technical drawings and construction documents, with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Previous experience in data entry preferred.

High school diploma or GED

This is a safety-sensitive position, as defined in section 181.950, subdivision 13, subject to drug and alcohol testing provisions in sections 181.950 to 181.957.
Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Frequent standing and walking.
Work Environment:

Office setting in manufacturing/distribution facility environment.

Light exposure to plant and warehouse environment, including heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, airborne particles, and significantly loud noise.

Exposure to moving equipment throughout the warehouse.

Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by the company.
