Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Houseperson/Laundry, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of our hotel environment. Responsibilities
- Perform floor cleaning tasks using appropriate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and floor scrubbers to maintain pristine surfaces across guest rooms, hallways, and public areas.
- Handle various cleaning duties including dusting, sanitizing surfaces, emptying trash receptacles, and replenishing supplies to uphold sanitation standards.
- Manage laundry operations by sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and guest clothing efficiently.
- Safely handle chemical agents used in cleaning and laundry processes by adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and proper chemical handling procedures.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to moving furniture or large laundry loads while following manual handling safety protocols.
- Support hotel housekeeping management by ensuring all cleaning routines are completed promptly and thoroughly, contributing to a welcoming environment for guests.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols at all times to ensure personal safety and that of colleagues and guests.
Experience
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience in a hospitality or industrial setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques including vacuuming, mopping, and the use of industrial cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and proper chemical handling procedures is highly desirable.
- Experience in hotel housekeeping management or hospitality environments will be advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude towards guest satisfaction.
- Prior exposure to hotel emergency procedures and safety data sheets (SDS) compliance is beneficial.
