Job Summary
Local cartage company seeking box truck driver for part-time position from 6am-10am Monday-Friday to manage a truck pickup and delivery from Euless to Fort Worth and back. Requires a consistent person who is able to be early and not require many days off. Must be physically strong and able to use an Etrac ratchet strap proficiently.
Duties
- Follow designated routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries within local areas.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts while adhering to safety protocols.
- Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or issues encountered during transit.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial box truck driving
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and hazardous materials handling procedures.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight
- Proven ability to use Etrac ratchet straps proficiently
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with dispatchers and clients effectively.
