Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality concrete finishing work on a variety of projects, including commercial, residential, and renovation sites. Your expertise will help bring blueprints and schematics to life, ensuring durable, smooth, and aesthetically pleasing concrete surfaces. Responsibilities
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, and edgers.
- Install rebar reinforcement according to blueprints and schematics to ensure structural integrity.
- Operate heavy equipment including concrete mixers, pumps, and other machinery necessary for efficient pouring and finishing.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and schematics to accurately execute project specifications.
- Apply finishing techniques such as brooming, stamping, or staining to achieve desired textures and appearances.
- Perform repairs and restoration work on existing concrete surfaces, including crack filling and surface refinishing.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks on construction sites while adhering to safety protocols.
- Use hand tools like caulking guns, trowels, and screeds along with power tools for precise finishing work.
- Assist in the installation of hardscape features such as walkways, patios, or retaining walls when required.
- Maintain a clean work environment by removing debris and ensuring tools are properly stored after each shift.
Experience
- Proven experience in concrete finishing on commercial or residential construction sites.
- Knowledge of concrete mixing procedures and the operation of concrete pumps and mixers.
- Familiarity with rebar installation, form setting, and blueprint reading is essential.
- Hands-on experience with various finishing techniques including stamping, staining, or textured finishes.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts or skid steers is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to construction sites involving heavy equipment and materials.
