Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and explaining procedures clearly.
- Assist healthcare providers during patient visits with procedures such as ingrown nail medication administration, and wound care.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately to ensure complete and up-to-date medical documentation.
- Conduct basic clinical procedures such as specimen collection, medication reconciliation, and assisting with diagnostic tests like ICD coding and physiology assessments.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with hospital teams to facilitate inpatient care coordination or outpatient services as needed.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding to support accurate documentation and patient care.
- Experience in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or internal medicine settings is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and EMR/EHR management tools to streamline patient data handling.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately across diverse populations.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, vital signs collection, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS).
- Familiarity with medical office management practices including appointment scheduling, medical records management, and administrative support functions.
- Inpatient experience or OR experience is a plus for supporting complex procedures or hospital-based care.
