- Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional communication and safe swallowing
- Provide therapy to improve speech intelligibility, cognitive functioning, and swallowing safety
- Utilize alternative or augmentative communication methods as appropriate
- Modify diet textures and implement oral motor exercises to improve swallowing outcomes
- Set shortterm and longterm goals aligned with physician orders and resident needs
- Educate residents and families to support carryover and functional independence
- Advocate for residents’ rehabilitation needs and participate in quality assurance initiatives
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress accurately per regulatory standards
- Collaborate with nursing, rehab, and physician teams to ensure coordinated care
- Master’s degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology from an accredited university
- Current state SLP licensure
- Experience in longterm care or skilled nursing preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal healthcare regulations
- Compassionate, patientfocused approach to care
