Senior Project Manager - Healthcare Construction
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with deep healthcare construction experience to lead complex hospital and clinical build-outs and renovations. The role is responsible for full project lifecycle delivery from preconstruction and budgeting through construction, commissioning, and closeout ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with healthcare regulations and quality standards. The Senior Project Manager will collaborate with clinical stakeholders, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to minimize disruption to operations while delivering safe, code-compliant, patient-centered facilities.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.

Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets; monitor progress and implement corrective actions to address variances.

Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, clinical leadership, architects, engineers, and subcontractors; facilitate timely decision-making and clear communication.

Ensure compliance with healthcare codes, regulations, and standards (including infection control risk assessment protocols) and coordinate inspections and regulatory approvals.

Implement and maintain construction safety and quality programs; conduct site inspections, coordinate corrective actions, and enforce safety protocols.

Manage procurement and subcontractor selection, negotiation, and administration; review subcontracts, change orders, and claims.

Oversee commissioning, testing, and turnover activities; coordinate training and documentation for operations and maintenance teams.

Perform risk identification and mitigation; maintain detailed project documentation, reports, and financial forecasting for senior leadership.

Mentor and develop project team members and junior project managers; drive continuous improvement and best practices across projects.

Leverage project management tools and software to manage project information, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change management (experience with Procore is a plus).
Qualifications

Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager leading healthcare construction projects (acute care, outpatient clinics, or specialty facilities).

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 8 years of progressive construction project management experience with a track record delivering complex healthcare projects on schedule and within budget.

Strong knowledge of healthcare building codes, infection control risk assessment (ICRA) practices, life safety, and regulatory requirements specific to healthcare facilities.

Demonstrated ability to develop and manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and risk registers.

Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to work effectively in active clinical environments.

Proficiency with project management tools and construction documentation workflows; experience with Procore preferred.

Availability to travel between project sites as required and manage site-based teams.

Nice to have: PMP certification, LEED accreditation, and hands-on experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms.
