JOB SUMMARY
The Inside Sales Representative manages a customer base that consists of both prospective and existing customers. They take inbound calls and make outbound calls in a manner which facilitates the retention and further penetration of profitable business in an assigned region consistent with established sales goals and policies. Relationship building with your RSMs and reps in the field. Not a call center - with a genuine defined career path.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
- Pro-actively sell our products and services (outbound phone and/or email.)
- Takes customer’s orders, via phone, email, web, EDI and enters orders into the Order Entry program.
- Communicate via phone and e-mail with internal and external customers.
- Provides various answers to customers’ questions regarding product, orders, shipments, installation, complaints, etc.
- Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of our products and services
- Assists Regional Manager with house accounts.
- Builds lightbars in the ESG Custom Bar Builder systems
- Provides customers with quotes, data and/or product literature upon request.
- Supplies representatives or customers with spiff and/or promotion information and flyers
- Issues returns goods authorizations for returns, processes credit memo requests.
- Build and maintain customer relationships.
- Works directly with the assigned Regional Sales Managers and Representatives to support customer needs.
- Works with shipping and production to coordinate timely and accurate shipments.
- Attend daily Production meeting
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent education required
- Must be energetic and possess a customer service oriented focus
- Eagerness to engage in direct sales and customer calling
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of distributors, customers, prospects, company personnel and others
- Working knowledge of MS Windows applications, including Word and Excel
- Ability to type 40 wpm, 10-key by touch
- Good math skills (e.g., adding, subtracting, etc.)
Desired
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
