American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level 2 Trauma teaching hospital in Rome, GA, requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Combined Medical, Surgical, Neuro, and Cardiac ICU with 26 beds in a 361-licensed-bed Level 2 Trauma teaching hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center

ICU patient population includes drug overdose, MI, subarachnoid hemorrhage, MVC, sepsis, ARF, AAA, acute hypoxic respiratory failure, pneumonia, and suicide attempts

Patients may be on Life Link, CRRT, or intra-aortic balloon pump
-
ICU RN skills include arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips, CVP monitoring, care for post-craniotomy patients, and TPA administration

EMR: Epic (experience preferred)

Equipment includes cardiac monitors, Precision BBG monitor, Alaris pumps, BiPAP, ventilators, specialty beds, and Virtual Patient Observer technology

12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation required

On-call may occasionally be required when census is low, though this is rare
-
Floating required to all Med/Surg and Critical Care areas, including ED boarders
-
13-week contract
-
Active GA or Compact RN license required
-
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (CPI can be provided by the facility if not already held); TNCC preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Experience with arrhythmia monitoring, sedation management, paralytics, titratable drips, and CVP monitoring required
-
Experience at a Level 2 or higher trauma center preferred; teaching hospital experience a plus

CCRN preferred

Epic EMR experience preferred

1 professional reference dated within the past year required from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Foley catheter placement requires 2 nurses per facility policy

Department support staff includes CNAs/nurse techs, respiratory therapists, phlebotomists, educators, safety sitters, and Virtual Patient Observers (VPO)

Orientation includes the first week of facility-wide new employee orientation (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM) followed by 2–3 days of unit-specific orientation

Holiday coverage required for 70% of holidays

Navy scrubs required
