Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure health stability
- Support residents with memory care needs related to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia through personalized engagement and behavior management strategies
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and prevent injury
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide compassionate support during meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Communicate effectively with residents’ families and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care plans are followed
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification or equivalent caregiving credentials with current licensure where applicable
- Prior assisted living experience or long-term care experience is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and perform personal care tasks with empathy and professionalism
- Experience working with individuals with cognitive disabilities, dementia, or developmental disabilities is advantageous
- Knowledge of vital signs measurement, medication administration, first aid, CPR certification, and safe patient lifting practices
- Ability to operate standard passenger cars for driving residents when needed; valid driver’s license required
- Strong communication skills coupled with a caring attitude; ability to work effectively in team settings and independently
