Job Title: Security Service Technician

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Security Service Technician for a Contract-to-Hire opportunity in Jacksonville, FL. This position is ideal for someone with experience in electronic security systems, fire alarms, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting who enjoys working directly with customers and solving technical challenges in the field.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting a variety of service and installation needs.
Responsibilities
- Respond to routine customer service requests, scheduled maintenance calls, emergency service requests, and after-hours calls in a timely manner
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective equipment and system components
- Perform preventative maintenance on installed systems and equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues using strong analytical and technical skills
- Install and support small-scale projects and system upgrades as needed
- Conduct system testing and checkout for new and existing installations
- Analyze service requirements and provide customers with appropriate repair solutions
- Perform technical support activities related to installed security systems
- Assist with custom system integrations and system enhancements
- Install, configure, and support network equipment and related systems when required
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures
- Collaborate with technicians and specialists to support customer service initiatives and cross-training efforts
- Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records of work performed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience with electronic security systems, fire alarm systems, access control, CCTV, or related low-voltage systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions
- Experience performing preventative maintenance and repair activities
- Strong programming and technical problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with network-connected security systems
- System integration experience
- Knowledge of applicable safety standards and regulations
- Industry certifications are a plus
- Experience and certifications in Genetec, Lenel and Software House are desired, but not required
