Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Med Passer to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a supportive and nurturing environment. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Safely administer medications following prescribed schedules and protocols, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Monitor residents’ vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to track health status
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, using specialized techniques to promote comfort and safety
- Utilize manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts to assist with transfers safely and efficiently
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems or paper records
- Follow infection control procedures by cleaning resident areas and adhering to hygiene standards
- Respond promptly to resident requests or emergencies, providing reassurance and appropriate assistance
- Support group home or assisted living environments by fostering social engagement and community participation
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring nutritional needs are met
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings with a focus on geriatrics or disabilities
- Strong knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care techniques
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and safe transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and record-keeping
- Knowledge of infection control practices including cleaning protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) use
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications; additional certifications in medication administration or behavior management are highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in community-based home care settings
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks while maintaining compassion and professionalism at all times
