We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team! Duties
- Perform long-distance transportation duties in a team driving environment, requiring coordination and shared driving responsibilities with an assigned partner driver to complete extended routes safely and efficiently
- Safely operate tractor-trailer trucks with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and proper securing methods
- Transport a variety of freight including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and other specialized vehicles based on operational needs
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify truck condition, report any maintenance issues promptly, and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries while managing route driving schedules to optimize fuel usage and delivery windows
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and load documentation for compliance purposes
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL A license and a clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of manual transmission operation and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Experience handling various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other loading equipment when necessary
- Excellent route planning skills with an understanding of route driving best practices
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safety protocols for transporting sensitive or hazardous materials
- Physical stamina to perform load securement tasks and long hours on the road
