Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sushi Chef to join our team. The Sushi Chef will prepare high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes while maintaining strict standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety. Experience is preferred but not required, as on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate who is eager to learn and committed to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other Japanese dishes according to recipes and training guidelines
- Handle, prepare, and store food in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times, including cleaning knives, cutting boards, and equipment
- Follow proper personal hygiene practices, including handwashing and use of gloves when required
- Check ingredients for freshness and quality before use
- Properly store raw fish and ingredients to prevent cross-contamination
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation
- Follow all health department, safety, and restaurant policies
Qualifications:
- Sushi or kitchen experience preferred but not required (training will be provided)
- Willingness to learn sushi preparation techniques and knife skills
- Strong understanding or willingness to learn food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
- Food Handler’s Certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry kitchen items as needed

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
