Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Marketing Director to lead our census development and community outreach efforts for our skilled nursing facility. This role is responsible for building strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, discharge planners, assisted living communities, home health agencies, and other healthcare partners to drive referrals and maintain a strong occupancy rate.
The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with healthcare marketing experience, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to develop strategic partnerships that support organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic marketing and business development plans to increase patient referrals and occupancy.
- Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, physicians, discharge planners, case managers, social workers, insurance providers, and community organizations.
- Conduct regular sales calls, facility tours, and presentations to referral sources.
- Identify new referral opportunities and cultivate long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure timely follow-up on referrals and smooth admissions processes.
- Represent the facility at networking events, healthcare meetings, community events, and professional organizations.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and referral patterns to identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain accurate referral tracking and prepare reports on marketing activities, census trends, and outcomes.
- Work closely with the Executive Director and clinical leadership to align marketing strategies with organizational goals.
- Promote the facility's services while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of healthcare marketing, business development, or admissions experience is required.
- Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, hospice, home health, or senior living strongly preferred.
- Established relationships with local healthcare referral sources are a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM or referral management software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and post-acute care services.
- Ability to analyze referral data and develop growth strategies.
- Strong networking and public speaking abilities.
- Proven track record of increasing admissions and occupancy.
