Position Title: Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher
Location: Mater Academy Davenport
Reports to: ESE Coordinator
Position Overview:
Mater Academy Davenport is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered ESE Coordinator to lead and support our Exceptional Student Education program. This role goes beyond compliance and is critical to ensuring that all students receiving services are making meaningful academic and behavioral progress.The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and deeply committed to student success, with the ability to balance compliance, instructional leadership, and collaboration with staff and families.
Key Responsibilities: Compliance & Case Management
- Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and district ESE requirements
- Oversee IEP and 504 processes, including timelines, documentation, and meeting facilitation
- Maintain accurate and organized student records
- Prepare for and support audits, ensuring all documentation is up to date
MTSS & Intervention Leadership
- Lead and support Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention processes
- Collaborate with MTSS and instructional teams to identify and support struggling students
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data
- Ensure interventions are aligned to specific skill deficits
Instructional Support & Coaching
- Support teachers in implementing effective differentiation strategies
- Provide guidance on small group instruction, accommodations, and modifications
- Assist with behavior intervention strategies and classroom management supports
- Partner with teachers to support ESE and ELL student needs
Data & Student Progress Monitoring
- Analyze student performance data, including FAST and iReady
- Track progress of ESE students and identify trends or gaps
- Participate in data meetings and contribute to instructional planning
- Support “crunch time” and school-wide academic initiatives
Family & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as a key point of contact for ESE families
- Facilitate clear, supportive communication with parents regarding student services
- Lead meetings with professionalism and empathy
- Collaborate with school leadership and support staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Florida certification in ESE required
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and compliance procedures
- Experience with MTSS and data-driven instruction preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Pay: $40,107.63 - $56,731.77 per year
