SUMMARY
Performs various manual and clerical tasks related to the ordering, sampling, receiving, movement, storage, disbursement, packing and shipping of all chemical materials, equipment and supplies required to support the manufacture and shipping of products. Picks up shop orders and related materials and delivers to proper stations. Works with chemicals and performs various routine tasks in assisting technical personnel in the warehouse.
WORK PERFORMED
Unloads trucks and railcars ensuring that all material and chemicals and receiving paperwork is complete and accounted for. Annotates freight damage as required by departmental procedures.
Is responsible for ensuring that all materials are moved to the proper locations. This includes separating chemicals and material for forwarding to the applicable quality groups, obtaining and transporting samples to the lab for testing, and carrying or moving all materials to and from the Receiving, Sampling, Production or Warehouse facilities. Visually checks for proper method of identification, storage life and condition of container being sampled.
Verifies and accounts for all required signatures, quantities and acceptance tags and, or labels. Separates and distributes materials to the proper department, person or station.
Chemical Material Worker moves chemicals, materials, equipment and supplies to and from all stores, warehouses and manufacturing areas. Moves within or between areas using forklifts, tugs, vans and trucks up to one-ton flatbeds. Loads shipments on transportation equipment and secures loads using ropes, straps, blocks or other means to ensure damage prevention.
Prepares shipping papers and labels for the shipment of materials and final product according to specific shipping instructions.
Orders, stocks, dispenses and delivers chemicals and materials according to specific customer and regulatory paperwork requirements and reports discrepancies such as quality overages, shortages and/or damage to material.
Checks and contacts other departments as necessary to ensure shipments are properly accounted for and complete.
Is responsible for ensuring that all chemicals and materials are moved, stored and disbursed according to current safety procedures and practices.
Checks correctness of inventory and shelf life records by performing physical inventories. Identifies shelf-life materials requiring quality review.
Performs manual and clerical tasks involved in receiving, storing and issuing of equipment, chemicals, materials and the shipping of final product.
Is responsible for maintaining all Warehouse facilities in a clean, neat and orderly manner according to cGMP, FDA and established housekeeping practices. Maintains all checklists, logs and relevant paperwork for warehouse equipment.
Performs shrink wrap of equipment and/or other items on site, as necessary, using a Shrink Wrap Heat Gun or similar type of equipment.
May perform routine movement of furniture and other non-process related items.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate or equivalent. Two (2) years experience in Stores, Production Control, Shipping and/or Transportation. Must be familiar with various types of material handling equipment and become certified for Forklift operating up to a 6,000 pound capacity.
