Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data and identify discrepancies promptly
- Process payroll and handle accounts payable and receivable to maintain smooth cash flow operations
- Maintain the general ledger by recording all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and accounting standards
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other reports necessary for internal review or external audits
- Conduct account analysis to monitor financial health and support budgeting processes
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting regulations and assist with audits as needed
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Hands-on experience with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or comparable systems
- Familiarity with governmental accounting practices and nonprofit accounting is a plus
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and reporting purposes
- Ability to perform 10-key typing accurately and efficiently for data entry tasks
- Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
