Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic clinical team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services, including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral therapy, to diverse populations across outpatient and inpatient settings. Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and art or dance therapy as appropriate.
- Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure client safety during emergencies.
- Facilitate intake processes, clinical documentation, and treatment planning in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical records management, documentation of patient care, and data collection for clinical research purposes.
- Provide specialized support for clients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, chronic pain conditions, or co-occurring disorders through evidence-based behavioral health interventions.
- Engage in case management activities including patient assessment, social work collaboration, and follow-up care coordination to optimize client outcomes.
- Maintain ongoing professional development by staying current with research developments in mental health counseling, ICD coding updates, and telehealth best practices.
Experience
- Valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (e.g., LMHC or equivalent) with active certification to practice independently.
- Demonstrated experience in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, addiction counseling, and grief counseling.
- Proven ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, and families across outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder highly preferred.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention protocols and crisis management procedures in clinical or hospital environments.
- Experience utilizing telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), medical terminology, clinical documentation standards, CPT coding for billing purposes, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
