Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately troubleshoot issues.
- Perform routine maintenance on air conditioning units, building automation systems, appliances, and other mechanical equipment.
- Conduct field service operations including equipment repair, welding, and ammonia refrigeration work with precision and safety.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic instruments to identify faults in electrical or mechanical components.
- Support property maintenance tasks by repairing or replacing HVAC/R components and ensuring compliance with EPA regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and system performance logs for accountability and future reference.
Experience
- Proven construction experience combined with service technician background in HVAC/R or related mechanical fields.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, plumbing systems, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration technology, and building automation systems.
- Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems and boiler operation is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform equipment repair including welding and mechanical systems troubleshooting.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; a valid driver’s license (including <PERSON> driver if applicable) is required for field service mobility.
- Mechanical knowledge across diverse property maintenance tasks including appliance repair and HVAC/R system troubleshooting.
- Experience working with ohmmeters or similar diagnostic tools to identify electrical issues efficiently.
