Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to create a welcoming atmosphere
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems ensuring clear communication with the kitchen and bar staff
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items like beverages or premium dishes to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation
- Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns promptly, and foster positive guest relations
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and supporting kitchen staff when needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations
- Maintain knowledge of restaurant policies on sanitation, food handling, and safety regulations to uphold compliance standards
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality roles is preferred; fine dining or sushi restaurant experience is a plus but not required
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and creating memorable dining experiences
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while multitasking across serving, bussing, and cashiering duties
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures is essential
- Experience with OpenTable reservations system or similar platforms is advantageous for managing guest bookings
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining a positive attitude
