Position: Phlebotomy Technician / Donor Processor

Reports to: Center Management and Donor Floor Supervisor

Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt or Contract
Summary: MUST have Phlebotomy Experience. Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager and Quality Assurance Supervisor, in compliance with the Hemarus Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and State/Federal regulations, the employee will perform safe and successful venipuncture, plasmapheresis procedure and determine donor suitability for Plasmapheresis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide quality customer service by responding to donor needs and expectations in a professional and efficient manner.
2. Maintain certification and annual re-certification requirements of the Hemarus Training program.
3. Knowledgeable in Hemarus donor/Unit Management systems, state and Federal regulations, FDA approved SOP’s, EMEA, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and all internal Hemarus Policies.
4. Maintain all permanent files and records in an organized and efficient manner.
5. Proficient in advanced Hemarus donor/Unit management systems navigation and queries.
6. Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.
7. Perform Donor vein checks and coding.
8. Perform daily calibrations of all automated pheresis equipment.
9. Assist in the calibrations of new equipment and following repairs.
10. Perform required cleaning and documentation of automated plasmapheresis equipment.
11. Assist with donor reactions and emergency medical procedures as needed.
12. Ensure concurrent, legible, and accurate documentation.
13. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and organized manner and report all equipment in need of repair.
14. Report all unsafe situations to the supervisor immediately.
15. Perform vital sign screening, finger stick, and determine hematocrit and total protein values.
16. Determine donor suitability based upon collected data in records and other regulatory agencies.
17. Prepare applicant donors for physical examination.
Educational Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent. REQUIRED
2. Able to speak, read, and legibly write English.
3. Candidates must possess strong computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
1. Manual dexterity
2. Able to stand for long periods of time.
3. Able to lift upwards to 50lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
