- PAY: $25-$40/hour (based upon experience)

- SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday; 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pipefitter Job Description:
We are looking for experienced Pipefitters to perform pipe layout, fitting, bolting, assembly, and installation for ship construction, alteration, and repair. The Pipefitter will be responsible for building, installing, repairing, and removing piping systems and related components aboard metal ships based on blueprints, work orders, and supervisor instructions.
Responsibilities may include installing and assembling pipe spools, pumps, valves, foundations, racks, railings, tanks, stanchions, trunks, sea chests, ladders, and other shipboard components. Pipefitters will also repair damaged piping systems, prepare surfaces for welding and burning, lay out holes for drilling, and operate various hand and power tools.
The Pipefitter may also be required to operate equipment including rolls, punches, shears, track burners, drills, and saws. Employees may assist with arranging staging, crane services, ventilation, lighting, and other jobsite support as needed.
Qualifications for Pipefitter:
- 2+ years of shipyard experience preferred
- Experience laying out, fitting, assembling, bolting, and installing pipe
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, work orders, and supervisor instructions
- Experience working with piping systems, pipe spools, pumps, valves, and related components
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Experience preparing surfaces for welding, burning, and drilling
- Must be comfortable working in a shipyard environment
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including bending, standing, climbing, kneeling, and twisting
- Must be able to work safely while wearing required PPE and fall protection when necessary
- Ability to carry and move equipment and materials throughout the work area
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, twisting, and working in various positions
- Must be able to carry materials and equipment throughout the shipyard
- Must be able to work at heights and in confined or difficult-to-access areas when required
- Must be able to wear a respirator and other required safety equipment
- Position requires the use of basic ppe.
Tools required:
- 12" combination square or speed square
- Tip cleaner
- Welding shield
- Ball peen hammer
- 24" carpenter square
- 10" and 6" crescent wrenches
- Burning goggles
- 25' minimum tape measure
- Striker with flints
- 2 lb. center punch hammer
The shipyard provides additional tools and equipment, including grinders, drop lighting, come-alongs, safety glasses, respirators and filters, grinding shields, torches and hoses, ear plugs, ventilation blowers, soapstone, safety harnesses, ladders, chain falls, and basic/power tools.

- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must have reliable transportation
- Pre-employment drug screen required
- Pre-employment background check required
- Must complete a Non-DOT physical and physical agility test
- Must follow all shipyard safety requirements and procedures
