Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of high-quality coffee, tea, and non-alcoholic beverages with precision and flair.
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive, assist with seating arrangements, and manage wait times efficiently.
- Handle retail sales transactions accurately using POS systems such as Toast POS including processing cash, credit card payments, and managing cash handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling stations, beverage prep zones, and seating areas to meet food safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions about menu items, making personalized recommendations, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Restock supplies regularly, monitor inventory levels, and assist with food preparation when needed to keep operations running smoothly.
- Support team members during busy periods by managing multiple tasks such as serving drinks, taking orders, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or café environments is highly preferred; barista experience is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS for retail sales transactions.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction processing.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours.
