Part-Time Athletic Trainer
Private High School – Newport News, Virginia
BC Sports and Spine LLC is seeking a qualified and motivated Part-Time Athletic Trainer to support the health, safety, and performance of our student athletes. This position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about sports medicine and enjoys working in a collaborative school environment.
Position Overview:
The Athletic Trainer will provide on-site care for student-athletes during practices and competitions, assist with injury prevention and rehabilitation, and work closely with coaches, parents, and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide athletic training coverage for practices and home athletic events
- Evaluate, treat, and manage athletic injuries
- Implement injury prevention and conditioning programs
- Maintain accurate documentation of injuries and treatments
- Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, parents, and medical professionals
- Ensure compliance with school policies and Virginia state regulations
- Required ethics training
Schedule:
- Part-time (maximum 25 hours per week, average 15 hours per week) August 1,2026 to May 31,2027
- Fall sports: Men’s soccer, men’s and women’s volleyball, women’s tennis, men’s and women’s cross country
- Winter sports: Men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s indoor track and field
- Spring sports: Baseball, Softball, men’s and women’s outdoor track and field, women’s soccer, men’s tennis
- Primarily afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends based on athletic schedules
Qualifications:
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
- Eligible for or currently holding Virginia state licensure
- Current CPR/AED certification
Compensation:
- Salaried position $700/week as an independent subcontractor ($50/hour)
- Professional and general liability insurance provided
- Mentorship in musculoskeletal assessment and treatment by PT, FAAOMPT
- Vacation coverage evaluated upon request
