Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans tailored to patient needs across multiple care settings.
- Perform therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and other modalities under supervision.
- Conduct clinical assessment documentation accurately, recording patient progress and response to treatments in accordance with medical documentation standards.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and clinical documentation standards.
- Support discharge planning by providing detailed updates on patient progress and recommendations for ongoing care.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, injury prevention techniques, and post-treatment care strategies.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
- Proven experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical assessment documentation practices.
- Hands-on experience with manual therapy techniques including trigger point therapy.
- Familiarity with medical equipment operation relevant to physiotherapy treatments.
- Proficiency in managing electronic health records (EHR) systems with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations such as geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Knowledge of specialized areas including orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, acute care, and outpatient therapy is highly desirable.
