Type of Exams:
The evaluation focuses on residual symptoms. The examiner will assess impairment in areas such as:
- Memory, attention, concentration, and executive functions (e.g., problem-solving, decision-making)
- Judgment and social skills
- Orientation and motor activity
- Visual-spatial orientation
- Neurobehavioral and mood symptoms (e.g., depression, irritability)
- Communication and level of consciousness
Equipment:
Standard medical clinic for treating any type of TBI
Provider Background:
Psychiatrists / Psychologists are eligible to do both TBI/Psych exams. The requirements are having an active and unrestricted psychology license; Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited school.
Physicians who are residency trained in Psychiatry, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) / Physiatry, NP, PA, M.D., D.O.
