We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wellness Nurse to join our Health Services. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting health and wellness among patients by providing high-quality nursing care. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as experience in administering injections and conducting physical examinations. The Wellness Nurse will work closely with patients to assess their health needs, provide education, and coordinate care.
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care based on established Service Plan.
- Orientates patient and family to the facility and patient care unit routine.
- Works with team members to ensure proper documentation of care.
- Teaches patient and family needed skills for total health care and best quality of life.
- Responsible for documentation per facility protocols.
- Ensure care is delivered based on physician orders, facility policies, and the assessment of the patient’s physical, mental, emotional and social needs.
- Administers medication as ordered by the physician and in compliance with the LPN scope of practice.
- Assist Med-Techs with orders and/or reorders of medication from appropriate Pharmacy.
- Gives report and support services to Program Director as indicated.
- Monitors overall patient care.
- Assists in orienting new staff.
- Supervises Med-Techs and Caregivers as needed.
- Reports all pertinent information to the Health Services Director or designee Ensures the safety and comfort of the patient according to the environment.
- Participates in internal and external disasters as listed in the Disaster Plan.
- Attends and participates in in-service education programs, staff meetings, and committee meetings, as requested.
- Interacts with guests, visitors, and volunteer workers to promote good public relations.
Requirements
- Current LPN license to practice nursing in Arizona
- Knowledge and ability to apply basic principles of nursing care in accordance with state Nursing Scope of Practice.
- Previous experience in Senior Living nursing preferred.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- CPR Card
