Job Overview
Bull Stockwell Allen is seeking an Accountant for our team at our San Francisco office. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role requires proficiency in financial software and a strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Deltek Vantagepoint is an enormous plus, and experience in the architecture, engineering, interior design, or construction industries is highly preferred. This position will play a critical role in supporting the financial health of our organization. This crucial position is one of a small and efficient admin team, that will oversee the finance component to the running of the office.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting Management:
- Prepare and issue client invoices, manage consultant/vendor payments, and follow up as needed to maintain cash flow and ensure smooth operations.
- Review and code vendor invoices, maintain vendor records (W9, Certificates of Insurance, Master Agreements).
- Maintain general ledger, verify, allocate, and reconcile transactions, resolving discrepancies as needed.
Client & Project Manager Collaboration:
- Work closely with Project Managers, participating in weekly meetings, setting billing targets, and monitoring performance.
- Facilitate invoice reviews with Project Managers on a project-by-project basis.
Senior Management & Financial Strategy:
- Generate monthly and annual financial reports, including profit/loss, cashflow, and productivity.
- Organize monthly statement reviews with Senior Management.
- Prepare and maintain the annual operating budget, projecting income, profitability, and sector performance.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Document accounting practices, prepare tax documents, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Submit payroll and 401(K) contributions to PEO, verify transactions, and ensure reconciliation and approvals.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Demonstrable experience with Deltek Vantagepoint software preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in architecture, engineering, or construction industries is highly preferred, open to candidates with relevant experience from any industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Experience with revenue, deferred revenue, and accrual accounting.
- Proficiency in cash management and year-end closing.
- Solid understanding of GAAP standards and strong technical accounting skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Team player, personable, and enthusiastic about participating in firm-wide meetings and activities.
- Experience in office administrative skills and support
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. Demonstrated experience in process improvement and optimization.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Familiarity with organizational tools, such as Mondays or similar, to maximize task management and protocols.

Pay: $72,800.00 - $104,000.00 per year
