Position Summary:
Provides technical/operational support in a Lead capacity in assembly of pneumatic/hydraulic and electro-mechanical aviation components. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems, issues, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Evaluate and maintain quality of work performed by subordinates.
· Leads diagnostic troubleshooting, provides engineering design modifications suggestions, and assists with strengthening department documentation by reporting errors or changes in a timely manner.
· Read and understand assembly instructions as defined by work documentation.
· Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, and blueprints to determine operations and required materials.
· Candidate must be exceptional at “hands-on” working environment.
· Maintain assembly efficiencies and develop ways to increase production output, and continuously improve the process to maintain build schedules.
· Manages assembly kits to maintain build schedules, component assembly consistency, minimize defects and errors, and maintain Quality/Craftsmanship.
· Verifies and updates the existing work instructions and sequence of operations with production supervisor.
· Leads the troubleshooting efforts with systems/manufacturing engineer to provide root cause of component failure, when necessary, then make appropriate repair. Share the data with production manager and together determine corrective action.
· Demonstrates proper form and procedure to using tools with assemblers.
· Provides a high-level daily progress report for each bay, and an in-depth weekly report.
· Oversees the part shortage list for assembly area and provides daily reporting.
· Trains new employees in the sub-assembly proper methods of parts installation and orientation, acceptable assembly techniques and processes, test bench operation, torque methods, and safety protocols.
· Ensures all production assemblers follow company policies in the day-to-day operations.
· Keeps individuals accountable for shop and equipment maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and security.
· Make sure that company tools receive their required maintenance and coordinates with QA to calibrate tools on a scheduled basis. Will be required to identify and provide explanation for new tools.
· Drives the 5S program for sub-assembly area with the guidance of production supervisor.
Must be flexible with assigned work outside of primary responsibilities.
Education:
Minimum high school diploma or GED; AA degree or technical certification preferred.
Experience:
2 to 3 years of experience as a Lead Assembler preferred

· Must be able to speak, read and write English as it relates to the job requirements
· Well organized and must be detailed oriented
· Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and ability to work independently
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with associate team members, leadership, and customers
· Must lead by example by demonstrating accountable and professional behavior and maintain good performance records at all times
· Intermediate level computer skills
· Experience with silver brazing stainless steel gauges, capillary and bourdon tubes a plus
· Knowledge of various welding methods (e.g. MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, Laser, Electron Beam, Plasma etc.)
· Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extend periods of time.
· Ability to lift objects of 10 to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, Parts Manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
· Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
· Must be available to work a flexible schedule including overtime and weekends.
· Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
