Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards
- Lead and manage a preschool classroom, creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development through hands-on learning experiences
- Observe, assess, and document children's progress and developmental milestones
- Foster positive behavior and guide children using developmentally appropriate classroom management techniques
- Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, rest periods, and field trips to ensure their safety and well-being
- Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication regarding student progress, classroom activities, and developmental goals
- Mentor and collaborate with assistant teachers and support staff to maintain a high-quality learning environment
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and compliance with all licensing, health, and safety regulations
- Participate in staff meetings, training opportunities, and school events as needed
Qualifications
- Experience as a Preschool Teacher, Lead Teacher, or in a similar early childhood education role
- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices for preschool-aged children
- Experience planning and implementing curriculum-based learning activities
- Excellent classroom management and leadership skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and colleagues
- Ability to work collaboratively while taking initiative and leading a classroom independently
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- CDA, Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
