Job Summary
Gober Heat and Air is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to perform residential and light commercial service, diagnostics, and repairs. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting HVAC systems, completing repairs, performing maintenance, and providing professional customer service. This position offers competitive hourly pay, SPIFF bonuses, company paid health insurance for the employee, and a $1,000 sign on bonus. We are looking for a technician who takes pride in quality work and can diagnose and repair equipment efficiently.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems including air conditioners, heat pumps, and gas furnaces.
- Perform preventative maintenance and seasonal tune ups.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and airflow related issues.Service light commercial HVAC equipment including rooftop units and split systems.
- Communicate findings and repair options clearly with customers.
- Recommend repairs, upgrades,when appropriate.
- Complete service tickets, documentation, and job notes.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good condition.
- Follow company safety procedures and industry standards while performing service work.
- Skills
- Strong HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting ability.
- Knowledge of residential HVAC systems including air conditioners, heat pumps, and gas furnaces.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Understanding of refrigeration cycle and airflow principles.Ability to use HVAC diagnostic tools and meters.
- Customer communication and problem explanation skills.
- Time management and ability to complete service calls efficiently.
- Ability to work independently in the field.
- Basic computer or tablet skills for completing service documentation.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
