Customer Experience & Education

Greet each customer warmly and engage them with empathy, professionalism, and curiosity. Personalize every experience to create a comfortable, non-judgmental space

Thoughtful questions to understand customer preferences and comfort levels. Based on this, recommend cannabis products with confidence - explaining effects, consumption methods, and dosage in a simple, understandable way

Build meaningful relationships with customers by providing exceptional service, fostering repeat visits, and creating a sense of community
Sales & Transactions

Complete all sales quickly, ensuring every transaction is accurate, whether processing cash, credit, debit, or other payments

Identify and suggest complementary products based on customer interests and needs, enhancing their experience and maximizing sales opportunities

Keep up to date on store promotions, new product arrivals, and vendor highlights to help drive excitement and boost revenue
Cleanliness

Wipe down and sanitize all high-touch surfaces (POS terminals, counters, door handles, product jars) using approved cleaning products

Sweep and mop all floors on a consistent basis. Immediately clean any spills or debris to prevent hazards
-
Empty trash bins and product packaging waste and secure cannabis-related waste per NYS OCM disposal regulations

Maintain a clutter-free and sanitary stockroom, break area, and restroom. All personal items must be stored in designated areas away from cannabis products

Ensure the store meets all health and safety standards, creating an environment that is not only visually appealing but also safe and sanitary for customers and staff
Compliance & Security

Follow all state and local regulations to verify customer age and ensure compliance during every transaction

Maintain the security and confidentiality of customer data and transactions in line with company policies

Follow all operational procedures for product handling, POS compliance, and store access to maintain a safe and efficient environment
Team Collaboration & Store Culture

Be a team player who supports coworkers, shares knowledge, and steps in to help where needed. Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful store culture

Stay current with company communications, training, and standard operating

Visual Merchandising

Identify and address any visual inconsistencies in displays to ensure a clean, accurate, and professional presentation

Keep all cannabis products and materials displayed in accordance with New York State guidelines, maintaining security and legal standards

Support a visually engaging layout that emphasizes featured strains, new products, and educational materials related to cannabinoids, terpenes, and safe consumption

Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment, including product displays, counters, and fixtures
Requirements

Minimum 21 years old
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
1–2 years of retail or customer service experience (cannabis experience is a plus but not required)

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
-
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
-
Comfortable using technology, including POS systems, digital menus, and other tools
-
Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with all cannabis regulations

Manual dexterity for handling cannabis products and equipment

Comfortable working in an environment where cannabis aromas and scents are consistently present
