Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscaper to join our outdoor maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing outdoor landscapes to ensure aesthetic appeal and functional excellence. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in diverse environments, utilizing a broad range of landscaping techniques and equipment. Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilizing to uphold landscape health and appearance.
- Operate grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment such as power tools, lawn mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems efficiently and safely.
- Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and plant health.
- Identify various plants, trees, and pests to support effective landscape management and pest control strategies.
- Execute hardscape projects including the installation of pathways, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures.
- Conduct seasonal tasks such as snow plowing and tree trimming to maintain safety and accessibility year-round.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist in landscape design planning by providing input on plant selection and layout considerations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in outdoor work environments with knowledge of landscape maintenance practices.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating power tools, hand tools, and landscaping equipment.
- Familiarity with plant identification, horticulture principles, and pesticide management.
- Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, lawn care techniques, tree care practices, and gardening fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to equipment operation and outdoor work.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in executing landscape projects.
- Prior experience with snow plowing or hardscape installation is a plus.
- A valid driver’s license may be required depending on job site locations.
