Bannister's Wharf located in downtown Newport, RI is looking to fill a Full -Time housekeeping position. We currently have 8 rooms (14 beds) on/near the waterfront and are open year-round with many returning guests annually. Our rooms overlook the Marina, so your office view is unbeatable! The ideal candidate will have housekeeping experience, will be able to independently work alone or with an assistant several days a week during high season from June - October. General hours from 8am - 2 or 3pm daily.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
responsible for cleaning guest rooms following Bannister's standards (make beds, clean bathrooms, remove trash, replace amenities in rooms, replace dirty linens, check appliances and present room in working order/tv remotes, lamp shades straight, polish and remove marks on walls/furniture, dust, report any missing/stained items).
responsible for deep cleaning guest rooms following Bannister's standards
responsible for doing laundry for guestrooms, restocking and handling organizing laundry
responsible for organizing daily needs of laundry for the following day
responsible for cleaning the wharf marina bathrooms/showers for yacht crew daily
assist in special housekeeping projects, maintain housekeeping closets in orderly fashion
assist fellow employees of Bannister's Wharf if needed
must be able to lift 30 lbs/walk up stairs without difficulty with laundry and cleaning supplies
must be able to perform additional duties as assigned
must be able to welcome guests, show to room if needed
must be able to communicate in English
must be able to follow lost and found procedures

Physical Requirements:
must be able to lift 30 lbs /laundry/push laundry cart, bend to make beds/pick up towels. Our facility does not have an elevator. Must be able to reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping. Sand, or sit, or walk for extended period of time.
We will provide training to hired candidates regardless of experience. Reliable and able to set a schedule a must. 8-3pm morning shift.
