Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Associate to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, beverages, serving food and maintaining a clean and organized café environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service or the food industry, with a passion for delivering a positive guest experience. Prior experience with Toast POS systemis a plus. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting where teamwork and attention to detail are essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages according to established recipes and standards
- Operate POS system for order processing and cash handling
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, dining areas, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Restock supplies, manage inventory, and ensure the café is well-organized throughout shifts
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning, and other duties as needed to ensure a welcoming environment
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, food service, or retail math is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask effectively in a quick service or fast-food restaurant setting
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash handling, sales upselling, and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Previous restaurant or café experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
