Mericle Construction, Inc. is seeking a Skilled Tradesman to assist with day-to-day field operations for assigned construction projects. This role involves implementing leadership and direction to ensure successful project delivery in compliance with building plans, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Mericle Construction, Inc. is the largest, full-service developer of industrial, office, flex, and medical space along Pennsylvanias I-81 Corridor. Mericle has developed more than 100 buildings in the Scranton/Pittston/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton area. The Mericle team includes licensed architects, land planners, professional engineers, surveyors, licensed electricians, plumbers, carpenters, leasing and marketing professionals, property managers, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement daily operations and responsibilities at the project job site.
- Review construction plans and specifications for compliance with building permits and code requirements.
- Coordinate ordering, delivery, and allocation of building materials.
- Provide information for purchase orders and track accurate labor time reporting.
- Manage and report on change orders, including cost and schedule impacts.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Proficiency in reading construction drawings and understanding technical aspects of projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, equipment, and regulations, particularly for metal structures.
- Proven leadership and personnel management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing environments.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with customers, vendors, and staff.
- Experience in budgeting and financial planning.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Smartsheet experience is a plus.
- 7+ years of professional experience in the commercial construction industry.
- Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role overseeing construction projects.
- Proven ability to perform well under pressure.
