Position Overview
Seeking skilled and detail-oriented Experienced Staff Accountant to join our team full-time. This role is ideal for a motivated accounting professional with public accounting experience who enjoys working on a variety of engagements and strives to build strong client relationships. You will play a key role in supporting tax preparation, financial reporting, and ongoing client accounting needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships
- Assist with financial statement preparation, and compilations, accordance with GAAP
- Perform general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions
- Work directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide timely updates
- Assist with tax planning and compliance projects
- Collaborate with senior staff on client engagements and special projects
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all work products
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in public accounting (CPA firm experience strongly preferred)
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and tax compliance regulations
- Active progress toward CPA licensing or EA certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QBO
- Familiar with MTO
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
